​Italian conversation class for intermediate levels takes place

in Stotfold (SG54LY) every Monday night at 8:30 pm.

The class lasts for 1 hour and costs £5 per person.

​The class is composed by 12 people but very often the group is smaller as not all the people attend every week.​

Most of them are basic or intermediate students who attend my one-to-one Italian lessons via Skype or my Italian lessons in person and they meet weekly to practice their conversation skill, acquired so far.

Very few of them are not my Italian students. Some of them have had Italian lessons via Skype or Italian lessons in person in past, some others have Italian parents who taught them Italian at home and some have learnt the language by themselves. They only attend my conversation classes to keep practicing their speaking ability and to learn about Italian culture from a native Italian tutor.

​Normally the class lasts 1 hour. Sometimes, when some special activities have been organized by the Italian tutor (cooking class, grammar games etc.), our meetings last 2 hours (the cost of the class in this case is £10). However you are free to leave after 1 hour, payment only £5.​

​Everyone of you is welcome to participate. If your Italian is not that good, the Italian tutor will support you with translation whenever you need.

For every Monday that is a bank holiday the class will be postponed to the following Tuesday.

​What does an Italian conversation class look like?

An “Italian conversation class” is a valuable opportunity for Italian students to practice their spoken Italian, learnt so far in their Italian lessons via Skype or Italian lessons in person, within an informal, relaxing environment, drinking a cup of tea or coffee and eating a slice of cake, under the guide of a native Italian tutor.

Each Italian conversation class is organized with Italian students who possess the same level of knowledge of the Italian language, so that no student would feel embarrassed and the Italian conversation can be useful to all students. 

The purpose of the Italian conversation class is to connect people who are attending Italian lessons via Skype or Italian lessons in person or who would like to begin the study of Italian, thinking to have Italian lessons and want to practice and improve the Italian language skills acquired so far.

Each Italian conversation class is developed around a specific subject, easy to be addressed by the Italian tutor within a conversation: events, personal experiences, or topics, such as sports, cinema, history, hobbies, celebrations, holiday, etc.. We tackle starting from an Italian newspaper article or we read and comment together texts about Italian history, art, traditions, culture, society and even food receipts.

We watch Italian videos and we play together some Italian table games which help everyone to practice Italian speaking.

​Often we practice Italian grammar trough some  "Italian grammar games" which turn a part of the Italian Conversation Class into a real Italian shared grammar lesson. 

Sometimes we prepare together some Italian recipes, turning our meetings in a proper cooking class for an evening, where every Italian student can take part in preparing food and cooking Italian dishes!

The Italian tutor addresses and moderates the discussions and assures that every student takes part in the talking.

Each Italian student will be invited to join discussions and contribute to the Italian conversation, whilst testing her/ his ability to speak and interact with others in Italian.
